Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Assam established under Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India is functioning presently from temporary campus BSNL Bhawan Building, Ananda Ram Baruah Rd, Pan Bazaar, Guwahati, Assam 781001. RDSDE Assam has been established since December 2016 & operationalized with full-fledged HOD/Regional Director w.e.f 09 August’ 2017. The existing Central Field Institute viz; National Skill Training Institute for Women, Tura and National Skill Training Institute for Women, Agartala, National Skill Training Institute Extension centre, Imphal, has become an integrated subordinate formation under this RDSDE, which is the attached Office of the Ministry Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. RDSDE, Assam is also designated as Regional Apprenticeship Advisor in terms of Section 27 of the Apprentices Act, 1961 in order to accelerate National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) in the NE Region.

The Directorate with its primary objective is to facilitate various vocational training program such as: - PSA OXYGEN PLANT TRAINING, RPL, PMNAM, PMNAPS, PM – Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, PM Cares, Short Term Training (STT), Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS), PMKVY, PMVK and various other entrepreneurship program. It also acts as a nodal centre to ensure effective integrated development and monitoring of Skill Training and Apprenticeship activities for all the states of North-east Region. RDSDE Assam, Guwahati, under the Regional Director, is headquartered at Guwahati, Assam with inclusion of Three Central Field Institutes (CFIs) viz, 1) National Skill Training Institute (Women), Tura, Meghalaya, 2) National Skill Training Institute (Women), Agartala, Tripura 3) National Skill Training Institute Extension Centre, Imphal, Manipur under its jurisdiction.
